Steve began his EMS career in 1981 as a part-time employee for Gold Cross Ambulance. Steve transitioned his career to Waupaca Area Ambulance in 1982 and has worked as a full-time field provider since that year. Steve worked as a supervisor for many years and helped grow the service in Waupaca County.
In 2013 Steve transitioned back to his roots at Gold Cross Ambulance as the service area in Waupaca was absorbed by Gold Cross. Steve is a dedicated pre-hospital employee that currently serves as a field training officer and student preceptor. Steve is a patient and steadfast mentor to many new EMS professionals just beginning their careers. Without a doubt, Steve has impacted hundreds of young EMS providers throughout his own career. Steve will be transitioning to retirement in December of 2022 after over 40 years of dedicated service to the community. Steve's legacy in Waupaca and the lives he has impacted will be remembered for many years to come.
