Cindy has been a Critical Care Paramedic at Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance for over 14 years. She is also an active responder in the community she calls home. When getting to know Cindy you will quickly learn of her pride in her children and deep love for family. As an FTO and Preceptor to many new EMS providers and students over the years, Cindy is often referred to as the “Mother” of Tri-state. She is admired by her students and trainees, and they always express their appreciation for her mentorship.
Here’s just a sample of the feedback received:
“Enjoyed yet another shift with Cindy! She has so many tricks of the trade and is a wealth of knowledge. She offered constructive feedback, was engaged in any questions I had, and let me take the reins while being supportive. She's a great FTO and I'm looking forward to working with her once I'm off my phase shifts. She calls it like it is and I appreciate that in a person, coworker, and mentor.”
At Tri-State Cindy was one of the first paramedics to staff a dedicated Critical Care ambulance. It took a lot of hard work, dedication, and knowledge to be a pioneer in the ground Critical Care transport program. Cindy demonstrates growth and adaptability when it comes to inevitable industry and company changes. She is a quick study when introduced to new equipment and guidelines and naturally helps her peers learn in the process. As an unsung hero, Cindy’s Stars of Life nomination is greatly deserved.
Congratulations from the Professional Ambulance Association of Wisconsin on receiving the 2024 WI Star of Life Award!
