It is with great enthusiasm that we nominate Amanda Corrao for the PAAW Star of Life Award. Amanda is a driven, smart, and deeply compassionate EMT whose journey into EMS reflects both courage and purpose.
Amanda began her EMS career in 2021 after leaving the corporate world in search of a more meaningful path—one where she could directly impact lives. Despite graduating from her EMT program during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, where clinical opportunities and patient contacts were limited, Amanda entered the field with determination, resilience, and an eagerness to learn.
Since joining Gold Cross Ambulance, Amanda has made a profound impact in just four short years. Her patient-centered care is exceptional, marked by empathy, precision, and calm under pressure. But Amanda's contributions extend well beyond the ambulance.
Today, Amanda leads our in-house cadet programs, serves as our Lead BLS instructor, and is a trusted community educator. She has played an instrumental role in training and mentoring the next generation of EMS professionals, building a strong foundation for the future of prehospital care. Her passion for education, her ability to connect with learners of all levels, and her commitment to clinical excellence have elevated our internal programs and external outreach alike.
Amanda is also known as one of our most organized and reliable team members. Her attention to detail, adherence to timelines, and ability to “move mountains” make her the go-to person for high-impact projects and initiatives. Whether she’s coordinating community CPR events, guiding cadets through their first shifts, or ensuring administration tasks run seamlessly, Amanda consistently leads with integrity and excellence.
Amanda Corrao exemplifies the very best of EMS—compassionate care, community impact, and professional leadership. She is an outstanding role model, and we are honored to recognize her with this nomination for the PAAW Star of Life Award.
Congratulations, Amanda!
